Engage Yourself
The Ring Thing asks that you Engage Yourself and commit to a 60 to 90-day social experiment of wearing The Ring on THAT finger without exception and without apology. You must wear it all the time so that it feels like a part of you, it should feel natural. If it feels good and natural, then you’re believable; if it’s believable, then you feel good and natural. With that in mind, the first week might feel a little awkward, but you’ll get through it.
Make notes of your experiences, feelings, observations, reactions and thoughts. Share them with us and we’ll share them online. This collection will serve many purposes. It will: allow us all to review the madcap culture we live in; expose how we as individuals feed into others’ expectations; negate the narrow-minded cultural standard; connect with our open-minded sisters and brothers; shake up the social stew; and, MOST IMPORTANTLY it ENGAGES our own love of self, commitment to self and appreciation or self.
Women are told and trained to care for others first: their husbands, their families, their children. When we publicly choose to commit to SELF FIRST, we acknowledge our own personal value and worthiness. The actual experience is, of course, different for each individual, and we invite you to Engage Yourself.
Try it for a while. And feel what happens.
Please be in touch.
Always Engaged,
Dixie

Hi. Congratulations on your interesting experiment. Please allow me to introduce you to a variation on “engaging yourself”.
Singelringen (“The Single Ring” in Swedish) is a unisex ring that serves to remind the single wearer that they are already complete; while open to possibilities. The ring features a turquoise acrylic layer shining over a sterling silver band engraved with “made in Sweden” and a unique registration number that provides access to the Singelringen Global Community. Singelringen is now worn by more than 150,000 singles in 20+ countries around the world. Leading authors who write about an empowered Single Life endorse Singelringen. http://www.us.singelringen.com
Many Singelringen wearers wear the ring as a sign of commitment to themselves. Although we suggest wearing Singelringen on the right hand so that it is not confused with a wedding ring, the spirt of completeness with oneself appears to be very much in sync with what you suggest.
